Partners in Employment is a not for profit, charitable organization offering services throughout Perth and Huron Counties.
The formation of Partners in Employment came about as a result of two years work of a steering committee with representation from across Perth County. Employment related services that existed in the county for persons with significant barriers, including social assistance recipients, were extremely limited. Those that did exist tended to have a narrow focus and were uncoordinated with other services. Individuals on the Steering Committee represented a variety of interests including services agencies, education, federal, provincial, and local governments, businesses, consumers and their families.
Date of Incorporation: November 26, 1992. Partners in Employment have been operating in the Stratford area for over 10 years and are directed by a Volunteer Board of Directors.
Partners in Employment presently manages 3 Employment Resource Centres located in Stratford, Listowel and St. Marys and assists people to complete the Training and Employment Plan, connecting them to community employment services. Partners in Employment also offer an individualized job development service for people with employment barriers, through out the rural area of Perth and Huron Counties.
In an effort to meet demand and minimize transportation difficulties in Huron and Perth Counties, Partners in Employment offers service in Stratford, Listowel, Wingham, St. Marys, Seaforth, Clinton, Goderich and Exeter. Staff also travels to Mitchell and Milverton as required. Increasing service to meet demand of those who seek employment in their home communities has been of priority.
Partners In Employment, is a not for profit organization (Charitable # 89177 3244 RR) with locations in Perth and Huron Counties, providing support services for individuals with employment challenges, to obtain and maintain employment.
Partners In Employment has local Employment Facilitators to provide Labour Market Re-Entry Services for individuals with employment challenges and to assist these individuals to find employment in Huron and Perth Counties. Partners in Employment has worked hard to maintain our credibility with our Employer Base. This growing database represents 2000+ area businesses. This group characterizes a diverse cross section of the available employers in our region.
Diverse funding has provided Partners in Employment staff with an awareness and sensitivity to the needs of Employment Equity target groups and the rural community. Beneficiaries of this awareness and sensitivity are unemployed persons who become employed, employers that have their employment needs filled and the community as a whole by having a lower unemployment rate.
